Åre is Sweden’s premier ski resort, located in Jämtland near the Norwegian border. The ski area offers around 91km of pistes with multiple sectors and modern lifts. Terrain is varied, with excellent beginner areas, long intermediate runs and strong advanced skiing including steeper slopes and off-piste opportunities. Snow reliability is very good due to cold temperatures. The village is lively and well developed, with restaurants, bars and shops creating a vibrant atmosphere. Åre is especially known for its World Cup events, vertical drop and strong mix of skiing and nightlife.
