The ski area offers around 63km of pistes and Finland’s largest vertical drop, with modern lifts and wide open terrain. Skiing is best suited to beginners and intermediates, though some steeper slopes exist. Snow reliability is extremely high due to Arctic conditions. Ylläs is particularly known for cross-country skiing, northern lights and its peaceful environment.
Cold Arctic conditions ensure very reliable snow throughout the season, often extending well into spring.

Taiga Bar and Bar Kaappi are among the main venues, offering a relaxed après atmosphere.
Cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, northern lights, husky tours and snowmobiling provide extensive activities.
Ylläs has solid facilities and accommodation but is less developed than major resorts.
Attracts families, couples and nature-focused travellers, giving a slightly older and calmer demographic.
Some off-piste terrain exists, though skiing is largely piste-based.
Ylläs is busiest in February during holiday periods, though overall visitor numbers remain lower than larger resorts. Lift queues are minimal, and the area rarely feels crowded. January and March offer quieter conditions with excellent snow.
